Operational Expenses and Donation Transparency
MEAA is currently working on accepting donations via Ko-Fi and Paypal.
Annual and quarterly expense and donation data will be maintained here as a Google Sheet, alongside Ko-Fi summaries and PayPal statements.
As of January 11, 2023 our expenses total $12 USD for the domain name. This will be an annual expense. Should you have a question about donations or expenses, please do not hesitate to contact admin group at megyptologyaa@gmail.com. Thank you!
Private Alumni Forum - Agreement of Use and Forum Rules

All Forum Users agree to abide by the Forum Rules, and acknowledge and accept the disclaimer and liability statement below.
Forum users must ensure they comply with the Forum Rules. By using of <domain name> forums you agree to be subject to these Forum Rules, and that you will keep up to date with them. Please inform moderators if you see any content in breach of these rules.
Moderators will remove posts and topics which are in breach of these rules. Users breaching the rules may be banned.
Be polite and respectful to all forum users, including moderators. Bullying, aggression, nuisance behaviour and discrimination will not be tolerated. Language must be professional and polite.
Be aware that our forum users come from diverse backgrounds, with different cultures, languages and legislation.
Posts must be appropriate to the forum and the discussion. Messages must not contain any content which could be considered defamatory, offensive, illegal, obscene, deliberately provocative, or inflammatory.
Your posting must be your own content. You must be truthful and factual, and opinions and unsubstantiated statements must be acknowledged as such. You must not mislead or misquote, or attempt to impersonate or pose as another person when posting.
You must use the edit and delete features responsibly.
You must not post complaints on the forums, particularly if identifying other users.
You may not post commercial advertisements of any kind. Advertisements that are irrelevant to the subject of Egyptology or for non-commercial purposes are permitted. You may provide brief details of a service or product supplier in response to a question or other post, but this should be limited to contact details only. Likewise, spam and references to surveys, contests and so on are not permitted.
Forum users are permitted a single account only.
Your forum profile is your responsibility to maintain. Your forum name must adhere to rules regarding posts with respect to professionalism and politeness.
Posts must adhere to intellectual property law, including copyright law. You must not post, upload, download or otherwise exchange copyright protected material through the forums. Material extracted from copyright protected sources must be referenced. You may be held liable for breaches in copyright, or other, law broken as a result of your posts.

We take the protection of your privacy and your private data very seriously. We store and use the personal data you provide only in accordance with the content of this data privacy statement and the applicable data protection regulations, in particular the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and national data protection regulations. With this data privacy statement, we would like to inform you to what extent and for what purpose personal data is processed in connection with the use of the website. The private member forum should remain private and for the express use of our alumni community - and not be opened up to those who have not submitted a request for membership to MEAA.
Personal data
Personal data is information about an identified or identifiable natural person. This includes all information collected, such as your name and email address. However, information that cannot be associated with your identity (for example, statistical information, such as the number of online users) is not considered personal information. You can use our website without disclosing your identity and without providing personal data. If you provide data for the purposes of membership, this data will then only be processed by us for purposes of using this website, in particular for providing the desired information. When entering personal data, only mandatory data must be provided. Further information may also be provided on a voluntary basis. In each case, via the Google Form, we point out whether it concerns mandatory fields or voluntary data.
Processing of personal information
Your personal data is protected by technical and organisational measures against loss, destruction, access, modification or dissemination of your data by unauthorised persons. Access to your data is only permitted for a limited number of authorised persons. They are responsible for the technical, commercial or editorial support of the servers. Despite regular checks, however, complete protection against all risks is not possible.
Disclosure of personal data to third parties
In principle, we only use your personal information to provide the services of membership. MEAA does not intend to disseminate any personal data to any third parties. Insofar as external service providers are used by us within the scope of the provision of services, their access to the data also takes place exclusively for purposes related to MEAA membership. Through technical and organisational measures, we ensure compliance with data protection regulations and also oblige our external service providers to comply with these.
Furthermore, we will not pass on your data to third parties without your explicit consent, with a particular focus on the avoidance of advertising and promotional activities. Your personal data will only be disclosed if you have actively consented to the transfer of your data or if we are entitled or obliged to do so by law and/or official court orders. In particular, this may involve providing information for law enforcement, security purposes or the enforcement of intellectual property rights.
Legal basis for data processing
Insofar as we obtain consent for the processing of your personal data, Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR serves as the legal basis for data processing.
Insofar as we process your personal data in order to fulfil a legal obligation, Article 6 (1)(c) of the GDPR serves as the legal basis for data processing.
Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR may also be used as a legal basis for data processing if the processing of your personal data is necessary to safeguard a legitimate interest of a member, or that of a third party, and, in so doing, your interests, fundamental rights and freedoms do not require the protection of personal data.
Within the scope of this data privacy statement, we always indicate the legal basis on which the processing of your personal data is based.
